Executive Head of School 

The Executive Head of School is the most senior management position on the operational team in the school and chairs the  Whole School Executive Committee. The Executive Head reports to the Chair of the Oakhill Board. The person in this role leads and is accountable for all the educational operations of the school from Grade 000 to Grade 12, as well as the non-educational operations, including maintenance, HR, performance management, marketing and finances.  The Heads of College and Prep report directly to the Executive Head to assist with the smooth running of the school. In addition to the operational duties of this role, the Executive Head also shares the responsibility with the Board of developing and executing the strategic vision for the school. The Executive Head is expected to take a keen interest in the students in all aspects of school life and to fulfill a key role in public relations with parents and the broader community.

The successful applicant should fulfill the following requirements:

  • A proven track record with adequate experience in an educational leadership role
  • An ability to lead and inspire by example
  • A sincere interest in the learners and their involvement in all spheres of school life
  • Exceptional planning, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to work to a tight schedule and deal with a diversity of complex issues at the same time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong track record of effective administrative abilities
  • Willingness to be involved in after-hours and weekend work and to represent the School in a variety of public contexts
  • An ability to eloquently fulfill the responsibility of spokesperson for the School
  • An ability to sensitively and sensibly engage with learners and their parents when necessary 
  • A commitment to and proven capacity for leading staff development and wellness with a future-minded approach
  • An ability to develop and implement systems and structures to achieve goals
  • A proven track record of being involved in effective fundraising initiatives
  • A proven track record of effective conflict resolution competencies
  • A recognised professional educational qualification and current SACE registration
