The finals of the SWD Hockey Schools League took place last week at the Oakhill Sports Campus, where teams from Knysna, Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn fought it out to be the 2015 champs! Oakhill’s U13A Boys played against Oudtshoorn’s Van Reede Primary on Monday 14 September, and were elated to win the trophy with a 6-0 victory. The following day, Tuesday 15 September, saw Oakhill’s U13A Girls play Park Primary from Mossel Bay. After 40 minutes of tough play, Oakhill won 1-0 to claim the title.
Both Oakhill’s coaches, Alastair Trafford and René Korsten, would like to congratulate all four teams on reaching the finals and giving their all. Director of Prep Sport at Oakhill, Garth Turvey, said, “We are immensely proud of both our teams. This is the first time our U13A Girls have achieved this honour, and the first time that both our U13 teams are league champions together. Well done to all the players and coaches!”
