Oakhill’s annual Tyres, Takkies and Turf adventure day took place on Saturday, 12 September at the beautiful Oakhill Sports Campus for everyone to enjoy. This is a wholesome community event where all are encouraged to participate in the multiple activities offered on the day. As the name implies, the day included Tyres – a Cycle ride; Takkies – a Rainbow Run and Turf – 7A side Hockey for junior and seniors, including parents and any adults wanting to show their hockey prowess. A round robin of fun activities kept the younger children busy as did the multitude of stalls. Oakhill encouraged stall holders from the community to be involved, and amongst others they were pleased to share the community spirit with Hospice and Cupcakes for Cancer. A special inspirational guest, Paul Steyn also participated in the fabulous colour-filled Rainbow Run, sharing details beforehand with over 400 participants from Oakhill and the community about his walk for a great cause.
