Swimmers excel at Levels

A number of our Oakhill pupils participated in the Swim South Africa Regional Champs held in East London from the 3rd to the 5th of April.

Kate Tanner, in Grade 8, swam her way to the Level 2 finals in the 200m, 100m and 50m breaststroke, as well as the 50m freestyle. She achieved two Personal Bests (PBs), a Bronze in the 50m breaststroke and a silver in the 100m breaststroke.

Grade 6 learners Adam Nurse and Coel Trollip also competed at Level 2. Coel swam the 50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 200m individual medley, and qualified for finals for all three, with PBs. At finals he achieved a silver by placing second for 50m Breaststroke. Adam Nurse made the finals for all of his races and received a bronze medal for 50m breaststroke, as well as PBs for all of his events.

Rebecca, also in Grade 6, remarkably swam seven events at Level 3, reaching five finals and two reserves, and achieving a silver for her 200m freestyle. All of her swims were personal best times.
