Our Head of Prep, James Cross, shares some special thoughts today for Oakhill’s first-ever online assembly. Key points in his address are kindness and gratitude ….
It is important to remember that everyone is in this together, and we need to be kind to ourselves, and others. We need to think of others, reach out however we can, and remember to ask for help if we need it. In the past, people and communities have faced, and come through, many difficult situations because they’ve recognised their common humanity, stuck together and supported each other. Now is that time again.
As the Covid-19 crisis rages on, it is an excellent time to also practise gratitude for any and all blessing in our lives. Gratitude reminds us that even in what seems to be the darkest of times, there is still room for joy.
