South Africa celebrates Arbor Week annually in September, and Oakhill’s Grade 9 students took the opportunity today to plant ten new trees that were kindly donated to the school. Our Head of Life Sciences, Juliet le Fleur, led assembly in the morning, giving a bit more background and depth to the reason we celebrate this time: “Arbour week reminds us of the restorative power, the bounty of nature and the natural heritage we should treasure. We are privileged to have the opportunity to reflect on the small acts we can perform, like planting a tree, in order to give back during this time.”
