Our boys and girls teams competed in the National Co-Ed Schools 1st Team Water Polo Tournament for 2019 hosted by Kingswood College, Grahamstown. This tournament hosted nearly 40 of South Africa’s top co-ed school water polo teams and clubs.
Out of a total of 8 games, the girls won four which allowed Oakhill to place top 8 out of 19 teams, which is a massive improvement from the previous year and is impressive as Oakhill placed above a number of big schools. Well done to all the girls, you played with massive heart and grit! Congratulations to MVPs Sophia Trollip, Taryn Dawkins and Hannah Verrier.
The boys played seven matches, winning two and losing five. Oakhill ended 15th overall out of 18 teams. The boys know their strengths and weaknesses and will look to improve their gameplay next year. Well done to MVPs Alex Hunziker, Francois Viljoen and Joshua Smith.
