As the closing ceremony brought the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, to completion, so have the Foundation Phase come to the end of their integrated cross-curricular Olympic theme with a special assembly dedicated to the Olympics. They have celebrated the spirit of the Olympics over the last 5 weeks and undertaken a wonderful learning journey in the process. The children shared some of the lessons learnt from the games.
There have been knowledge lessons and life lessons and values that we should be living every day in every way. We have explored the concepts of perseverance, resilience, integrity, honesty, hard work and big dreams …
The audience got to meet our Oakhill Grade 1, 2 and 3 dream team… which consists of all our wonderful Oakhill children and all our beautiful teachers too. With sincere thanks Aleza Frost acknowledge each one for their hard work and commitment in practicing for this assembly presentation. Alexa also expressed a special thank you to Mrs Hardick who helped with the poetry & drama element, Mrs Wolf for the various dance numbers, Ms Peterson who added the musical magic, Mr Viza for his IT assistance and the class teachers for helping to put it all together.
