Dean Matter is the epitome of the model Oakhillian. He is a true gentleman: sensitive, polite, courageous, considerate, creative, resilient and involved in a myriad of activity at the school. Most of all he is modest. According to our Academic Director, Sharon Brown: his calm, focused presence in his Matric year allowed his peers to rise to the occasion.

Top 5% of candidates in South Africa
Dean achieved within the top 5% of candidates in 6 or more subjects and scored 80% or more for Life Orientation. This places Dean in the top 57 candidates out of 10 212 candidates of 194 schools who wrote the IEB examination in 2015.
