Interact Beach Cleanup

The Oakhill Interact Club, led by Mrs Fourie and a group of Grade 11 students, recently embarked on a beach cleanup with the Grade 8s. The blustering wind couldn’t deter the spirit as all got enthusiastically involved in cleaning up the beach between Brenton-on-Sea and Buffalo Bay!

Teddies for Babies in Need

This morning volunteers from local charity, Babies in Need, came to collect an array of teddy bears that were loving knitted by wonderful Little Oaks moms and extended family members and friends. The gorgeous teddy bears go to the Provincial Hospital for the babies in the children’s ward. They are sure to bring much joy!

Eco efforts acknowledged

Oakhill recently received recognition from Knysna Municipality for our creative use of eco-bricks. Together with ten other local schools, Oakhill participated in the BioWise’s #WasteNothing Competition. Reducing, reusing and recycling

Intermediate Phase pupils recently spent an Eco Club session learning how to make their own deodorant and toothpaste in order to practice reduction, in the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle philosophy. They also sorted the plastic lids and bread tags to be sent to the Sweethearts Foundation. Small things making a big difference!

Heritage Day at Woodmill Lane

In celebration of Heritage Day, Oakhill music pupils delighted audiences with their wonderful music at Woodmill Lane. Oakhill’s band and marimbas, as well as individual items of trumpet, flute and vocals, filled the open-air theatre with entertainment for restaurant patrons and shoppers alike to enjoy.
